NVIDIA Unveils Cute RTX A2000 Graphics Card That Fits in the Palm of Your Hand

NVIDIA announced the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 graphics cards today at CES, and they’re crying for love. And not only are the cards adorable, they’re the smallest graphics cards ever created, and they’re not only that, but they’re the first graphics cards to natively support Windows Mixed Reality (MR) inside PCs. And that’s not all, the cards are designed to be cool enough to run inside tiny drones, and they’re as powerful as many desktop PC graphics cards.

At today’s RTX launch event, NVIDIA announced a new entry in its $199 (US) Graphics cards that fit inside your palm. The new RTX A2000 GPU is small and lightweight enough to fit into the palm of your hand, and packs all the graphical horsepower you’d need to play the latest games on your smartphone or tablet. You get high-end graphical features like support for Virtual Super Resolution (HDR), real-time ray tracing, and DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling), and NVIDIA’s new Aperture Photon API—a set of modular APIs that lets developers build their own AI features—to do crazy things like simulate the effects of light lenses and achieve other advanced image processing effects. NVIDIA announced the RTX A2000, a new Ampere graphics card intended for professional workstations, during its special presentation at SIGGRAH 2021 yesterday. The RTX A2000 nearly matches the performance of the GeForce RTX 3060.

The RTX A2000 features second-generation RT cores for up to 2x faster ray-tracing performance, third-generation Tensor Cores for enhanced AI-augmented application performance, and 6 GB of GPU memory for compute-intensive workflows, but the graphics card’s low-profile, dual-slot design is something NVIDIA seems particularly excited about.

Green team’s RTX A2000 is an incredibly tiny GPU, as shown by Richard Kerris, VP of Omniverse development at NVIDIA, that appears laughably little when compared to some of the company’s other products, such as the comparatively enormous GeForce RTX 3090. Kerris, holding the card in the palm of his hand, said that the RTX A2000 is so tiny that it “fits in the palm of your hand,” making it a viable option for even smaller workstations.

The NVIDIA RTX A200 will be available in workstations from ASUS, BOXX Technologies, Dell Technologies, HP, Lenovo, and other manufacturers starting in October. NVIDIA’s worldwide distribution partners will also be able to purchase the graphics card.

Key Features of the NVIDIA RTX A2000

  • Real-time ray tracing for all professional workflows using second-generation RT Cores. With RTX enabled, you can get up to 5x the rendering performance of the previous generation.
  • Tensor Cores of the Third Generation: Available in the GPU architecture to allow AI-augmented tools and apps.
  • CUDA Cores: Up to 2x the previous generation’s FP32 throughput for substantial improvements in graphics and computing workloads.
  • Up to 6GB of GPU Memory: Supports ECC memory for error-free computation, which is the first time NVIDIA has implemented ECC memory in its 2000 series GPUs.
  • For speeding data routes in and out of the GPU, PCIe Gen 4 offers double the throughput and a 40% bandwidth increase over the previous generation.

Professionals can create photorealistic renderings, construct physically correct simulations, and utilize AI-accelerated tools with the RTX A2000, which is intended for daily operations. Artists can use it to create beautiful 3D worlds, architects can use it to design and virtually explore the next generation of smart buildings and houses, and engineers can use it to construct energy-efficient and driverless cars that will propel us forward.

NVIDIA is the source of this information.

On Monday, the company launched the RTX 2060, a more powerful version of the RTX 2060 Founders Edition. The graphics card is built on the same platform as Tesla V100, which is a very powerful technology, but it’s still special. It’s small, it supports 5K displays and it’s basically the world’s smallest gaming graphics card.. Read more about nvidia rtx a2000 gaming and let us know what you think.
