Phantasy Star Online 2 is a free to play MMORPG that was originally released in the Japanese market in January of 2008. The game was released to a worldwide audience in January of 2011 with the English version being released in June of 2011. In the game you are born as a New Generation VEGA pilot who must race against both the future and the past. The game features a wide variety of races, weapons and armor, vehicles, pets and more.
COWED, a small gaming blog, is happy to announce that it will be hosting a closed beta test for Phantasy Star Online 2 from October 28th to October 5th. Though the game is still in development, the beta will allow players to experience the latest version of the game, though it will be very limited and only available to selected players. Since this is the first public test of the game, it will also be a chance for us, the players, to share our opinions on the game, as well as providing feedback to the developers and the company.
Over two years after its release, Phantasy Star Online 2 still has a devoted fan base. The Phantasy Star series is known for its deep storylines, and PSO2 is no different. Fans can expect the same quality content the series is known for, but with the added benefit of online features that can expand your gaming experience. This coming August, Phantasy Star Online 2 will enter closed beta testing. You can sign up to test the game through the official website.
Tomorrow is the official launch of Phantasy Star Online 2 :. New Genesis , and MMO developers are gearing up for a series of announcements. At the top of the page is a complete and detailed article on everything from the game’s classes and their weapons, to the many progression systems, to the different enemies players will face (personally, I’m a fan of Bigg Frogga), including Gigantix enemies that only appear under certain weather conditions, which will be Wednesday, June 23. Then the developers shared the results of the player survey conducted during the closed beta test:
The majority of players tried out the fighter and shooter classes, most liked the game’s open world, and 90% of survey respondents plan to return to New Genesis for . The survey also highlighted some of the problems reported by players: Many commented that the skill effects were too bright, that the user interface needed improvement, and that the frequency of mineral use was too low. The developers note that UI tweaks will be gradual, the ability to reduce lighting effects is being considered but will also take time to implement, and the frequency of mineral use is high on the list, as upgrade systems like destroying borders and unlocking potentials will be progressive as the game progresses.
Finally, many items are given out at the start, so rare items fall more often and you can earn XP. These items have a limited duration (obviously), but players should be aware that their duration is always shortened in case of termination or maintenance; the developers are considering adding a feature that would return the lost time due to maintenance. It also warns players that the graphics in the game’s launcher may not be correct when the game is launched. In case you’re confused.
