Kingdom Hearts is a popular RPG series that has been around for over 15 years. There have been multiple anime series released for the game, including the latest one. The “kingdom hearts anime series release date” is a must read for all fans of the franchise.

Kingdom Hearts has become one of the most well-known RPGs in recent years. It’s also one of the longest series, comprising 13 games dating back to the early 2000s.

And it’s possible that the general narrative of KH isn’t as straightforward and clear as its theme tune suggests.

Regardless, Kingdom Hearts is a fantastic game with a fantastic fantasy/RPG premise. It’s also a must-play classic because to its unique gameplay and Disney crossovers.

So, which anime would most likely be good bets for Kingdom Hearts fans? Well, I’ve compiled a list particularly for you!

10. Black Clover

Our first offering is a very recent Shounen title that is well worth seeing.

Black Clover focuses not just on the fantastical aspects (similar to Kingdom Hearts), but also on the characters’ interpersonal connections.

The plot follows an underdog MC who is attempting to become the Wizard King despite having no mana in his body.

While Sora has his trusty Keyblade, Asta wields a gigantic Anti-Magic sword to combat other wizards.

He has run-ins with his world’s version of the Heartless — real demons from hell with a voracious desire for corruption and destruction — on occasion.

That is not to say that they must be in that sequence.

9. Bleach

Speaking about Kingdom Hearts’ primary antagonists…

Hollows and the Arrancar are the closest anime beings to the Heartless and Nobodies.

Hollows are soulless, evil monsters who feed on the souls of the dead — and even the living.

The Arrancar, on the other side, are Hollows with higher brains and willpower. They, like the Nameless (and to a lesser extent Organization XIII), can maintain their human shape.

The parallels between Bleach and Kingdom Hearts don’t stop there.

This anime comes highly recommended due of its equally excellent cast of characters and its extensive tale, which is arguably just as captivating as Kingdom Hearts (yet far less confusing).

8. My Hero Academia

Another title with fascinating characters that I’d suggest is My Hero Academia.

It also features a straightforward plot (good vs. evil), similar to Kingdom Hearts, however it does touch on the topic of gray morality a few times.

The plot follows Izuku Midoriya, another underdog-type character, as he grows into the finest hero he can be.

As a result, the series is chock-full of training and battle sequences – two elements that could appeal to fans of KH’s fast-paced action.

Overall, My Hero Academia is one of those anime series that I would strongly suggest to everybody. That’s how fantastic it is!

7. Noragami

Noragami is a high-octane anime with plenty of action. However, there are a few heartwarming slice-of-life scenes interspersed throughout.

Yato, a “vagabond” deity with great expectations and ambitions of having his own shrine and devotees, is the subject of the narrative.

He intends to do this by murdering monsters on the side while working odd jobs for pennies on the dollar as his primary source of income.

He’s your standard strong-willed MC, driven to achieve his goals no matter how many toilets he has to clean or dogs he needs to locate.

That is devotion in action!

6. Fullmetal Alchemist

Fullmetal Alchemist (particularly Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) is often cited as one of the finest anime series of all time in the anime world.

And rightfully so!

Why, after all, wouldn’t it be? Each member of the cast has a ton of depth and character development, and the entire narrative and storyline are *chef’s kiss*.

There are extremely few (if any) reasons to avoid seeing this anime masterpiece. Especially useful as a primer for newcomers.

Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please You will not be sorry!

5. Naruto

Naruto is much more than a show about a “Chosen One” MC, amazing ninjas, and the importance of friendship.

In terms of Shounen anime, you won’t find much better than the “big three” (Naruto, Bleach and One Piece). These are the three famous series that dominated anime and manga sales in the past.

Only a handful Shounen titles can match this incredible chonker of an anime in terms of duration.

Naruto has already spawned a sequel and a distinct spinoff, in addition to hundreds more episodes.

It boasts a well-developed, albeit somewhat overly-complicated narrative, similar to Kingdom Hearts.

However, it is not so difficult that I would not suggest it. If you haven’t watched Naruto before, keep it in mind for a future binge-watching session.

4. Mob Psycho 100

Shigeo Kageyama (the series’ primary protagonist) may not have the same “MC-like” appearance or behavior as Sora. He is, however, one-of-a-kind in an odd-yet-funny manner.

At the end of the day, Shigeo isn’t like Sora or Riku in the least. He’s just not the kind to have a “great purpose” or a “ultimate objective.”

He has no desire to vanquish the bad people or to safeguard the world from evil.

He’s more likely to get drawn into adventures and battles he doesn’t want to be a part of by accident!

Despite this MC’s inhibitions, Mob Psycho 100 is a game I would suggest here, because to its weird but endearing comedy and light-hearted plot.

3. Demon Slayer

Demon Slayer, while being a relatively young anime in comparison to the majority of the titles on our list, holds its own.

One of its best features is that we can observe how each character evolves as each episode progresses.

Naturally, the program follows the development of the cast’s relationships through time.

Black Clover is recognized for its spectacular aesthetics and action sequences, in addition to capturing the traditional “acquaintances to best friends” process rather well.

Even the series’ music is fantastic — as is the case with every game with “Kingdom Hearts” in the title.

2. One Piece

One Piece is the only anime that uses the “power of friendship” cliche more than any other.

In that sense, it’s similar to Kingdom Hearts, and in a good way.

One Piece emphasizes the significance of Nakama and how everyone should cherish and defend them with all they have, among other topics.

A good illustration of this is Luffy.

He, like Sora, would go to any length for his friends. He even puts his life on the line many times in order to rescue his comrades.

It sounds a lot like Sora…

One Piece is one of the OG Shounen games that I personally rank a 10/10 for having one of the most exceptional main characters ever, and I would suggest it to anybody.

1. Hunter X Hunter

The wonders of youth, oh, the wonders of youth.

When it comes to dealing with this topic, Hunter X Hunter performs a far better job than most anime.

And HxH is similar to Kingdom Hearts in that it focuses on a younger cast (Gon and Killua) with a lot of room for character growth.

HxH and KH are, coincidentally, both aimed at a younger population, with KH targeting a broader youthful audience than HxH – but nevertheless.

Although, in terms of plot, I believe Hunter X Hunter has the advantage over Kingdom Hearts since it is much simpler to understand and isn’t afraid to explore more mature subjects.

Hunter X Hunter is the ideal anime to watch if you like a fun, engaging, fantasy-heavy plot like Kingdom Hearts but want something a little more adult.
