20+ Anime With The Longest & Most Absurd Titles

25 Anime With The Longest & Most Absurd Titles –

Anime series titles can be quite insane. Just this past week I watched the anime “The Irregular at Magic High School”, which has a very insane title. The series was originally titled “Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei” or “School Rumble in a Magic High School,” which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. The English title is a lot better and is suitable for the title of the anime.

As you probably know, most anime have light-hearted titles, like “Honey and Clover” and “Orange.” But there are also hundreds of titles that are far more absurd than anything you’ll find in a Studio Ghibli film. Here’s a look at 25 shows with absurdly long and ridiculous titles.

Whether you’re new to the series or a long-time fan, there’s always room for silliness when it comes to the titles of anime. Whether it’s a poor translation or just a poorly thought out name, we’ve collected 25 of the silliest titles anime titles have ever had!

Have you ever looked at a title of an anime and thought: Well, that seems too long….

So after reading this article, you might blow a fuse.

We look at all the series that couldn’t resist writing a mini-essay to go with the title of a series.

The rules are simple: the longer the better. All names will be in English (for simplicity), but alternative names can be used as they are usually more fun. Everything from second seasons to special editions are eligible.

Here we go!

24. Problem Children Are Coming From Another World, Aren’t They?

Two for two when it comes to rhetorical title issues.

As you may have guessed, it’s also Isecai.

It’s just that this genre really likes to think about certain themes….. And to answer your burning question: Yes, problem children come from a different world.

Although disturbed children are not exactly the words I would use to describe psychics, but that’s just my opinion.

23. No Matter How You Look At It, It is You Guys’ Fault I’m Not Popular

Now we have a nice change of pace, because not only is the title of this anime not a problem, but also the accusation that it’s not compelling.

And I’d say it fits the show, because the main character is known for being completely out of touch with reality.

In terms of quality, it’s better than the previous two anime on our list. But you better have a thick skin, because the asymmetry is very strong and very intentional in the writing.

22. The Otherworldly Demon King and the Summoner Girls’ Slave Magic

If, like me, you are an avid thrash anime fan, you may be thinking: Wait, that doesn’t mean anything to you, but you’re wrong.

It’s just another title for how not to summon a demon king.

I made the rules in the beginning for a reason!

I have to say that I find this alternate title strange and hilarious, because it depicts a demon king on one side and a girl with slave magic on the other.

Who am I supposed to be encouraging?

21. I Want You To Make A Disgusted Face And Show Me Your Underwear

I mean, you can say whatever you want about the show being disgusting, but at least it’s not going in circles.

You read the title and literally know everything about the plot.

In the truest sense of the word, this is a six episode, four minute ANO. And every one is just a girl making a disgusting face and showing her underwear.

That’s all you can get.

Even the critics of Interspecies were more subtle.

20. Showa and Genroku Era Lover’s Suicide Through Rakugo 2nd Season

This is another alternate title, this time for the Downward Bound series.

And, this is the second season, so of course it should be added.

And, unlike most series presented here, this anime is truly S-level.

If you have not yet mastered the lessons of Japanese culture : Rakugo is a performance where one person tells a comedic story with almost no props.

The second season is also very deep in terms of introspection and the quest for self-confidence, making it one of the few series on this list that I recommend watching.

19. The Disappearance of Conan Edogawa: The Worst Two Days in History

First it was Haruhi Suzumiya, and now even Conan.

The main characters in anime really like to disappear into the movie format.

If you are a fan of the Conan franchise, you will definitely enjoy this movie.

It celebrates the 20th anniversary of the original manga and is sure to give you the nostalgia boost you so desperately need in your life.

So maybe these are the two worst days of my life. But it could be the best hour and a half of your life.

I expect to be paid for this slogan.

18. Kino no Tabi: the Beautiful World – Life Goes On, Kino’s Journey Movie

Although it’s more subtle than Mr. Show Me Your Panties, the title of this anime still tells you what you need to know about this movie.

The main character’s name is Kino, and they’re going on a trip.

Your beautiful world is a little depressing. But I’m sure some people like it.

And the fact that life goes on is a sure sign that someone bit the bullet.

But the name didn’t prepare me for the fact that it would be a talking bike. It was just a shock.

Also note that this is a prequel to the perhaps more successful series of the same name.

17. Suppose a Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies moved to a starter town?

For this show, all you have to do is listen to the title.

Imagine a child in a place called The Last Dungeon going to a pawn shop and enrolling in a school.

Everything happens the way you want it to.

This guy is fucking stupid and is basically a god among men.

Suppose this series really does put a new spin on the OP-MC-Isekai genre? Not at all.

16. Dragon Ball Z: Resist Despair!! The Surviving Fighters – Gohan and Trunks

I love it when specialties get extremely specific.

There are probably other Dragon Ball specials that are longer than this one, but this one is really good.

I’m also too lazy to dive down the Dragon Ball rabbit hole.

This special issue details Trunks original life line before the time travel scam began, and how he became the handsome man we know today.

I also find it incredibly funny that Gohan is called a survivalist.

15. AnoHana, We Still Don’t Know the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day.

Yes, it’s an alternative title.

And yes, I prefer it to the original.

It looks more mystical than the simple flower we saw that day.

I can’t write memes about the series, because it’s an absolute gem and a favorite of many of you, I’m sure.

The show is great, and it’s one of the few times the long title complements the show instead of making it feel like a daydream.

14. KONOSUBA -God’s blessing on this wonderful world!- Legend of Crimson

Words cannot explain how much I love this movie.

Konosuba is already an S-rated comedy in my eyes, but this movie exceeded all my expectations.

The story not only revolves around the purple Demons, Megumin’s people, but even has a romantic development.

This film is truly an addition to the wonderful world of anime – and a must-see for Konosuba fans.

13. Caught in the Battlefield Between My Girlfriend and My Childhood Friend

The title of this series may surprise you, even if you see it in its entirety. Since literally everyone calls him Oreshura.

Even the MAL website tries to hide this monstrous title describing the plot.

But the truth will never escape those with an inquiring mind and the ability to use Google Translate.

The series itself is surprisingly good. You don’t get more than the title promises, except that Coudere’s graphics are all over the place.

12. Yuri!!! On ICE: Yuri Plisetsky GPF in Barcelona EX “Welcome to The Madness”

At this point I’m really starting to lose interest in the anime, as it’s only a 2 minute special for Yuti on Ice.

But the title is rather long. Probably longer than the special itself.

Still, fans of Yuri on Ice seem to have really enjoyed this gem, as the empty nature of the performance leaves more room for interpretation and emotion in the routine.

11. Shimoneta: A Boring World Where The Concept Of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist

This title is both very accurate and very misleading.

On the one hand, the world of Shimoneta is very boring. And the dirty jokes are not in the heads of the characters.

But again, it goes way beyond dirty jokes.

The act itself is frowned upon, and all the characters are up to their ears in hormones and ready to sit in a chair.

As a viewer, you will also be exposed to thousands of oblique jokes while watching this show. And maybe some grown-up faces, if you know what I mean.

It’s very nice.

10. Yusibu: I couldn’t become a hero, so I reluctantly decided to get a job. OVA

Did I really pick OVA to put another word in the title? It is possible.

Does anyone on this planet really need to see this OVA? Absolutely not.

Is it under the influence of these novellas/anime that things have become a rhetorical question for me? It is possible.

As for these OVAs/originals, you get exactly what the titles promise. The alleged protagonist missed the chance to kill the Demon King and get a real fantasy MC, so now he’s washing up.

9. Kochikame, This is the Police Station in Front of Kameari Park in Katsushika Ward

This whole franchise is just crazy when it comes to the length of the name.

I chose the original story because most sequels are not translated into English at all (or the English title is much shorter than the Japanese title).

But in case you’re wondering, this is the longest Japanese game I’ve found in the franchise:

Kochira Katsushikaku Kamaeri Kuenmae Hashutsujo Ryou-san in Chyuuken Rakkii Monogatari – Kameari D.

8. My Mental Choices Are Completely Interfering With My School Romantic Comedy

I had never seen this title before and I didn’t want to say the same thing.

I can’t deal with someone reincarnated as slime.

I also can’t sympathize with a woman who doesn’t understand what her husband is saying.

But I can handle this.

As for the act itself, some of the relativity disappears, because I don’t have a goddess forcing me to choose between vomiting and attacking when a pretty girl comes near me.

But you can’t have everything.

7. If I Don’t Successfully Pick Up 420 Girls, I Am Going To Die In A Lot Of Different Ways

There are many things to say about this anime.

First of all, this is actually a special promotion for the novel. So don’t expect a true anime adaptation.

Secondly, the title is a bit misleading, because he doesn’t need to hit on that many girls in an instant, just one.

Finally, if you want to laugh, watch the Japanese promotional video of this anime and turn on the automatic credits in English CC. It’s a riot.

6. Kaguya Wants to be Confessed To: The Geniuses’ War of Love and Brains 2nd Season

Of course, the slogan Love is War is much catchier and more memorable than what the alternative title says.

It does, however, reflect well the plot of the series.

And the suggestion of a war between love and brain geniuses sounds like a Big Bang Theory fanfic.

So I have very mixed feelings about the title. However, the series itself is great; that should be obvious given how highly rated it is.

5. WorldEnd: What Do You Do At The End Of The World? Are You Busy? Will You Save Us?

Imagine how much easier a date would be if we called red flags of destruction.

I dare say the number of divorces would drop to zero.

This is, of course, an alternate title for My Next Life as a Thug: All roads lead to ruin!

You may have heard of this program.

It’s actually a very decent film, and an excellent twist on the theme of reincarnation.

Who would have thought there were still new ideas in this genre?

3. The Story in Which I was Kidnapped by a Young Lady’s School to be a “Sample of the Common People”

Finally, we come to the fact that this title won’t even fit on one line if you use the standard Word font.

That’s how you know we’re one of the big three.

This series has a gay protagonist who is kidnapped from an all-girls school.

If you’re wondering what the part about ordinary people is about, let’s just say that the girls at this school know nothing of the outside world. And this is their first attempt.

Aside from the fact that we got inclusivity points for this list and we’re in the Big Three, the show itself is generally pretty mediocre.

2. Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Episode 14: Valentine’s, and Then Hot Springs! – Please Don’t Get Your Hopes Up

Yes, I even dug up some unreleased episodes to compile this list.

In-depth journalism, I know.

And the title sums up everything you can expect from this OVA.

Here’s another episode of Dragon Girl by Miss Kobayashi, set on Valentine’s Day.

There are also hot springs here, but don’t expect too much of them! Unless you’re hoping for a lot of fan service.

If so, you’ll probably enjoy this episode (as well as some of our other fanservice picks).

1. The Misfit of Demon King Academy: History’s Strongest Demon King Reincarnates and Goes to School with His Descendants

I know, I talk all the time: Oh, the title pretty much explains the plot.

But that’s what’s really going on here.

The main character exceeds all expectations, and he actually goes to school with his offspring.

I have to say that the strongest Demon King doesn’t do it enough justice.

He killed people to the sound of his own heartbeat.

And it makes sense that it’s our first choice, given that this title is practically longer than a haiku. Anime titles tend to be long, and sometimes they get really long. We’ve all been there, trying to type in the name of a show and struggling only to find ourselves at a loss for words. But one Japanese company claims it has found a solution to this problem, and it’s called a title generator.
